Revisionist Japanese History

[The Japanese Foreign Ministry] failed to deliver in time the declaration of war against the United States in 1941 so that Japan became forever known as a sneak-attack nation.

So according to the Times, Japan’s sneak attack of Pearl Harbor was merely the result of a couple hours delay in getting word to America. As if that would have made any difference. Sadly, I would not be surprised if this is the version of history that every Japanese High School student learns.

The article is an otherwise interesting account of how the Japanese hostages were shunned upon their arrival in the country.
