The iAight

2004年10月30日2時01分

From the comments but funny enough to post.

I would love a iPod packaged in gold foil with a $50 gift certificate to Burger King.

Come to think of it, I would love just Burger King. Its been over 13 months since the last time I had a whopper. That will be one of the first things I buy when I come home to visit next month.

This represents everything that is wrong with the internet. Use extreme caution.

When Californians Attack!

2004年10月23日5時10分

Well, maybe they just look at you in disgust and yell epithets on occassion. Thus is the life of the politically-active non-socialist in California.

Update: Slate has released their list of endorsements. Curiously, Hitchens says something different at Slate than at The Nation. I especially like his opinion at the latter.

English Teacher Killed By Japanese Driver

2004年10月21日10時57分

Speaking of Japan’s treatment of the news, I would like to pay my respects to Jeffrey Sanderson. This kid was the same age as me, came over to teach English just like me, but had his life cut short a few months ago by some disgraceful, abhorrent Japanese driver who ran him over and then fled the scene. Jeffrey’s friend, Patrick, was also run over and put into critical condition at the time by the same driver (and perhaps another!).

Life In Luxury

2004年10月21日9時56分

What silly country has “Mega-typhoon heads north; 6 people hurt” as their paper’s headline. In Australia the Prime-Minister dies without anyone paying enough attention to be able to find him, and Japan reports injuries on the front page. No wonder half of their news shows are about the rest of the world. Nothing dangerous happens in this country–especially the Typhoons.

I keep beckoning God/Buddha/Whatever to show us his wrath here in Kanazawa, but all we get are mildly strong winds. I want excitement! I want the fear of god running through my bones!

I’m obviously too sheltered.

Update: Asahi is now reporting 15 people have died, including a 24-year old woman.

Bored? Build!

I present to you, The Soda Constructor.

Public Service Announcement: You are fat because you sit on your ass all day long eating. Not because you eat carbs.

Die Yankees Die

2004年10月21日7時56分

Alle die Yankees sind Schweine und Hünder. Not really, but living with one Red Sox fan and one Yankee’s fan, you’ve got to make a choice. And who would root for a team a.) from New York and b.) that outspends all National League teams by at least $80,000,000.

Update: kick ass! The Yankees have been sent home after a total and utter whooping.

Threading is Evil!

2004年10月15日5時44分

What!? I guess they make some decent points. But I mean come on…next thing you know they’ll be saying Object Oriented code is evil.

Which of the following is true:

  • It is almost 5am.
  • I am bored.
  • I am looking at random websites to cure my boredom
  • I should be a.)programming or b.)sleeping

I ask you, Thy dungeonman, to solve this riddle!
