Airport WDS Setup Guide

2005年5月19日12時36分

I love my Airport Express because I can hook up my computer to amazing speakers wirelessly. Listening to the music swirl around an expensive surround system is so much better than my tinny PowerBook speakers. The best part is that I don’t have any wires so I can move my computer wherever I want with worrying about breaking the connection!

Sadly, the speakers in this house are not near an ethernet port. I have to choose between wireless internet and wireless music. Whatever shall I do?! Woe is me! But wait! Airport Express to the rescue again! I can set up two Airport Expresses to talk to each other with something called WDS. So now not only am I able to have both wireless internet and wireless music, I seamlessly extend the range of my wireless network in the process. The Airport setup utilities will even configure your remote base stations for you. You just have to connect and set up the main base station and choose the remote stations you want to add. Enter a couple passwords and you’re done!

I got back from Vietnam yesterday. I had an amazing trip. I will write about it later, but for now I am in Nashville visiting Dessa before she is off to Central America.
